Episode 175 - How Marketing is Changing, with Simon Daplyn, Sun Chemical

We are back after the Easter break with another episode of the FuturePrint Podcast.  In this episode, Marcus talks with Dr Simon Daplyn of Sun Chemical. Simon is both a marketing leader and a scientist with a commercial focus. He is rare in that he can discuss science at a high level but also has a belief in the importance of marketing, storytelling and communication to expedite commercial success and progress for innovative digital print technology for new markets. Simon has experience working in disruptive, innovative businesses such as Xennia who are widely credited with being a key leader in both the digital textile and ceramics printing revolutions.  He brings this considerable experience in his product management and marketing role at Sun Chemical which is one of the largest manufacturers of printing ink and chemicals in the world. In this discussion we talk about how marketing is changing, what this means for the B2B marketing professional, how buying is changing, the power of storytelling and the vitality of being adaptable and aligning our marketing, and sales, to this changing market dynamic. Are trade shows still as important as they once were? Are trade magazines still relevant? I enjoyed this conversation and hope you do too!
