Leaders Summit: Creating New Markets for Industrial Inkjet
The FuturePrint Leaders Summit is taking place on the 23rd and 24th of March, where global leaders in print technology will offer insight, opinion and a vision for the future as the world emerges, a new market materialises, and new opportunities are revealed. John Corrall, Managing Director of Industrial Inkjet Ltd is an inkjet veteran, with 34 years in the business under his belt. Working at Domino, Elmjet, Videojet, Xaar, Xennia, before founding Industrial Inkjet in 2005, John held a number of R&D and engineering roles, as well as service and manufacturing, and credits the high amount of field work in his experience as being key to the founding of IIJ. We caught up with John ahead of his participation in the event.
Leaders Summit: Is Sustainability Even More important Now?
Back in 2012, Frazer and I ran the first EcoPrint Show in a converted railway station in Berlin. The focus was we sustainability, and at the time we thought that sustainability would become the most important defining factor for business and life. Sadly, this didn’t turn out to be the case back then for a number of reasons too numerous to delve into here. Regardless, the event made a big impression on the market and we pulled leaders together to focus on this topic.

DoDxAct’s Pandemic Response – Driving Lab Capability
In the FuturePrint events in October 2020 and February 2021, the effects of the pandemic on print and the hopes for the future have been a big focus. When the UK lockdown was announced in February 2020 DoDxAct had only been trading for just over two years and was building a reputation for combining its expertise in inkjet process optimisation with a practical support through lab testing. Almost 50% of our business relied on travel to customer sites, either providing print head and waveform training or assisting directly with the design and build of highly-customised inkjet deposition devices.

TAYA Groups announces a distribution partnership with European-wide acting Filmolux Group. The partnership allows Filmolux to supply the PVC-free KAVALAN range of 100 percent green large-format media in Germany, as well as in Austria, Scandinavia, Benelux, Italy, and Switzerland. Following COVID-related delays, the partnership will officially commence in February 2021.
Colordyne Technologies Unveils Its Second-Generation UV Retrofit
Colordyne Technologies, a leading manufacturer of full color inkjet printers and retrofits, announces its 3800 Series UV – Retrofit using the company’s second-generation UV print engine technology. The engine was redesigned to deliver enhanced usability, quality and functionality. Colordyne Technology’s 3800 Series UV – Retrofit transitioned the previous technology’s clamshell chassis design into an automated vertical ift system. This change provides users more automated functionality including print positioning and splice detection. Automated maintenance is another feature that can be added to the retrofit print engine during the initial acquisition or as an optional upgrade after installation.

Meteor Inkjet Ltd, leading supplier of electronics, software, tools and services for industrial inkjet, further expands its product portfolio with the introduction of a set of products for Epson’s I3200 range of PrecisionCore printheads. These products join Meteor’s previously launched solutions for Epson S3200, S1600 and S800 printheads.
