Introducing FuturePrint Podfest: A New Format for Industry Conversation
For all the talk around innovation in print, the way the industry communicates hasn’t changed all that much. Events are still often presentation-led, content can feel overly polished, and genuinely open conversation is surprisingly rare.
At the same time, the way people engage with information has changed. Buyers are doing more research, earlier, and are increasingly drawn to formats that feel authentic, conversational and grounded in real experience rather than theory.
That shift is something we’ve seen directly. Over the past few weeks, the FuturePrint podcast has gained real momentum — with last week alone reaching over 900 downloads. It’s a clear signal that there is demand for this kind of content when it’s done well.
Podfest is our response to that.
On 25–26 June, we’ll be hosting the first FuturePrint Podfest at the Century Club — a two-day, invite-only event built around filmed and recorded conversations with people actively shaping the future of print.
The concept is simple, but deliberate. Bring together a small group of industry voices, create the right environment, and focus on discussion rather than presentation. Across the two days, participants will take part in panel-style conversations covering key areas such as Direct-to-Shape, decorative surfaces, AI, sustainability, leadership, and Industrial Inkjet applications.
Each session will be recorded professionally, both in audio and video, creating a library of high-quality content that will be shared across FuturePrint channels throughout the autumn. The intention is not just to capture opinion, but to create something that is genuinely useful — content that helps explain where the industry is going and why it matters.
What makes Podfest different is the format. By keeping the sessions small and the setting informal, we’re able to move beyond surface-level talking points and into more honest, considered discussion. It’s less about delivering a message and more about exploring ideas — which is ultimately where the real value lies.
There’s also a practical benefit for those involved. Participating in Podfest isn’t just about being part of a conversation on the day — it’s about contributing to a broader content programme that extends over several months. The discussions recorded in June will be distributed throughout the autumn, reaching a global audience and creating ongoing visibility well beyond the event itself.
Alongside the recordings, there will be time to connect in a more informal setting, including space to meet between sessions and a dinner on the evening of the 25th. As with all FuturePrint events, the people in the room are just as important as the format — and bringing the right mix together is a key part of what makes it work.
Podfest is a slightly different approach for us. More focused, more conversational, and more aligned with how the industry is actually evolving. If the recent growth of the podcast is anything to go by, it feels like the right moment to do it.
